Samsung is working with Nvidia on 16Gb GDDR6 memory that will power the upcoming Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080, RTX 2080Ti and Quadro RTX graphics cards. Jim Elliot, Corporate Senior Vice President at Samsung Semiconductor said:

It’s a tremendous privilege to have been selected by NVIDIA to launch Samsung’s 16Gb GDDR6, and to have enjoyed the full confidence of their design team in making our key contribution to the NVIDIA Quadro RTX GPUs

Regardless of its lowered power consumption than 8Gb GDDR5, Samsung 16Gb GDDR6 will boost around 75 percent increase in performance. Comparatively, the new graphics solution will have data transfers of 56 gigabytes per second (GB/s) with 14-gigabits per second (Gbps) pin speed to 8Gbps pin speed of 8Gb GDDR5.

The new Nvidia’s Quadro RTX graphics cards will be available from October, 2018. The collaboration between Samsung and Nvidia will take graphics solution to next level. Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR), Computer aided design CAD and many other fields will advance rapidly.

In another news, Zotac RTX 2080Ti AMP edition will cost $1199. The non-Ti variant will come in two models, one with blower style fan and the other with triple fan. Check here for more details.
