In a recent video, Nvidia teased its new GPU lineup that starts with RTX 2080 along with announcing the new Quadro RTX 5000, 6000, and 8000 featuring Turing architecture. We expected the next graphics card lineup to start with the 1100 series but the latest teaser suggests otherwise. At this point, we do not know for sure if the next GPU lineup will be named RTX or not. A full reveal is expected at the event next week in Cologne. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has confirmed that Quadro RTX will feature Turing architecture. Additionally, the Quadro RTX will debut in different variants. With the collaboration of Samsung’s 16Gb GDDR6 memory, the upcoming Quadro RTX 5000 will feature 16Gb GDDR6 memory and 14Gbps memory speed.
In a press conference, Jensen Huang praised the Turing architecture and said:
Hybrid rendering will change the industry, opening up amazing possibilities that enhance our lives with more beautiful designs, richer entertainment, and more interactive experiences. The arrival of real-time ray tracing is the Holy Grail of our industry.
Quadro RTX 6000 will feature 24Gb GDDR6 memory with 4608 CUDA cores. However, the Quadro RTX 8000 will feature 48Gb GDDR6. All Quadro graphics cards will be based on Turing architecture, which will be the baseline design of upcoming Nvidia products.
Since the base difference between each Quadro RTX model is memory, the Quadro RTX 5000 will be slated for 2,300 USD. However, the high-end Quadro RTX 6000 and 8000 will be priced at 6,300 USD and 10,000 USD respectively.

Jensen Huang also confirmed the Quadro RTX series will be the first to support the USB-C VirtualLink Connector.
Nvidia’s new Turing architecture is another leap in graphics design. The last leap Nvidia took was its CUDA GPU in 2006. Turing architecture makes real-time tracing possible, it features RT Cores which accelerate ray tracing and Tensor Cores.
The availability of Nvidia’s RTX lineup is set for the fourth quarter, no confirmed date has been announced so far. We will wait for the event in Cologne later this month for more details.
