ReedPop and Penny Arcade have announced the dates for their upcoming two events including Nintendo Live and PAX West. PAX WEST 2023 is returning to the newly expanded Seattle Convention Center (SCC) with Nintendo Live 2023 on Labor Day Weekend, Friday, September 1, 2023, to September 4, 2023. PAX WEST is returning alongside Nintendo Live 2023 which is taking place on the same date as well. Apart from PAX West, PAX Unplugged 2023 will take place in the Philadelphia Convention Center from Friday, December 2, 2023, through Sunday, December 3, 2023.
As detailed in the official press release, PAX West 2023 is aiming to be its biggest iteration yet. Badges for the event will start going on sale Wednesday, May 31, 2023. ReedPop and Penny Arcade, organizers of the event, will be taking full advantage of the new Summit and original Arch buildings, as the convention will also host Nintendo Live 2023 which will celebrate Nintendo’s games and worlds. Nintendo Live 2023 will take place in a special section of the Seattle Convention Center and will feature Nintendo Switch gameplay, live stage performances, exciting gaming tournaments, memorable photo ops, event merchandise, and more.
PAX West badge holders with a Nintendo account who also want to attend Nintendo Live 2023 will have a chance to register for a free ticket to Nintendo Live through a separate promotion on the official PAX West website. The promotion for Nintendo Live will be offered during the PAX West badge checkout process from when badges go on sale on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, until Friday, July 7, 2023. One person will be allowed one ticket, regardless of the entry method and everyone should also note that a PAX West badge alone will not guarantee entry to the main event.
PAX West 2023 is aiming for a successful event after a sold-out PAX East 2023 event. The Summit building of the Seattle Convention Center is a new venue that offers more space than ever for exciting exhibitors showcasing the latest and the greatest titles. PAX Arena tournaments featuring beloved content creators and upcoming eSports starts and vendors with must-have goodies. The original Arch building located a block and a half away from Summit will also play a major role in PAX West as it will host a lot of the events and activities.
The four-day event will host different panels with different gaming figures, and industry luminaries, concerts of video game-inspired music, tournaments in classic and modern games, tabletop sections, and numerous other activities. The full list of exhibitors and schedule of four days will be announced in the coming weeks and months. Jerry Holkins, co-founder, Penny Arcade and PAX comments:
A single building could never contain everything we’ve got planned for PAX. And we think families especially will love this year’s collaboration with Nintendo.
After West, PAX will wrap up its 2023 schedule with the return of the PAX Unplugged which is taking place this year in the Philadelphia Convention Center. This is the most attended tabletop gaming convention on the East Coast and will welcome communities from around the world to experience iconic and new unannounced titles, watch expert panels and enjoy a massive show floor expo with the biggest names in analog gaming. While you will be able to grab your PAX West badges from Wednesday, May 31, panel registration will open up mid-May and media/content creator registrations opening up at a later date. PAX Unplugged badges will go on sale later this summer. For additional information, you can check out the official PAX West website.
