Indie publisher Indienova and developer MossTech Studio have announced the Early Access release date of their upcoming card-based tower defense roguelike Guardians of Holme. Guardians of Holme will be released in Early Access on PC on June 16, 2023, and will continue its development alongside players. Guardians of Holme is a unique game that combines tower defense mechanics with deckbuilding and roguelike elements. In anticipation, the developer has also released the launch trailer for the game. In Guardians of Holme, you will use the terrain to your advantage and formulate defensive tactics by strategically placing powerful traps to repel endless waves of enemies. As the game progresses further, you will gain new trap cards, and relics, and also upgrade existing cards while enhancing your deck and using it to face even more powerful enemies. The Early Access version of the game will allow you to experience two distinct playstyles by choosing between two characters, Seth, and Nicole. It will also feature a variety of traps and artifacts which will make each run in the game unique.
While using these traps and artifacts, you will be able to use a variety of strategies to kill the enemies such as focusing on maximizing the damage of a single trap or displacing different traps to push enemies into pits, and even employing roadblocks in synergy with the terrain. The game will give you complete freedom to use your own custom tactics and devise your own strategies to win the game. The enemies in the game will get tougher as you progress in the game thanks to a progressive difficulty system. This will ensure that you do not get too overpowered as you get better cards and have a good balance between your power and the enemy’s difficulty level.
Guardians of Holme is set in the distant past where the Demon King has managed to destroy most of the world however a legendary hero finally manages to seal the Demon King away which caused the demons to move to the edges of the civilization. After passing a few years in peace, the demons suddenly come back and begin their march towards the Royal Coty where the protection circles are present. You step into the story at this point as a skilled artisan from Holme and lead the heroic citizens of the kingdom in defending their homeland. You will combine your wits with a variety of traps to hold the kingdom’s last line of defense.
