Microsoft is Delisting Forza Horizon 4 From Stores in December 2024

Forza Horizon 4 Delisting

I cannot believe that it has been so long since Forza Horizon 4 came out. Forza Horizon 4 was released back in 2018 and Microsoft has announced that it is now delisting from all digital storefronts in December 2024. This has been the fate of every Forza Horizon and Forza Motorsport game in the past, but I was not expecting it to arrive so early for Forza Horizon 4. A lot of my friends are still playing it and even I jump into the game quite often to experience a change of pace from Mexico’s dry and dusty landscape. Starting December 15, 2024, Forza Horizon 4 will be delisted from both Steam and Microsoft Store.

With this announcement, Microsoft also announced that all DLCs for Forza Horizon 4 are also now removed from the store and the only way to obtain them is now through the Deluxe Edition or the Ultimate Edition which includes the DLCs, and expansions released for the game. If you want to add Forza Horizon 4 permanently to your account, you can do so with the Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition, or Ultimate Edition. Naturally, it will be removed from the Xbox Game Pass lineup as well so after December 2024, the only way to play Forza Horizon 4 will be either through a disc or if you purchase any of the three editions before it gets delisted. Once you purchase the game or its DLCs, you will be able to download them just fine even after it gets delisted from the store.

Ahead of the delisting, the Festival Playlist will undergo significant changes. The final series for the game, Series 77, will commence on July 25 and will feature the last Festival Playlist, which ends on August 22. After this date, players will no longer have access to the playlist screen, except to view the festival playlist history. Instead, players will be directed to the Festival Site screen upon starting the game.

While no new Festival Playlists will be introduced post-August 22, players can still engage with the Forza Events screen, which will offer a variety of daily and weekly challenges. Completing these challenges and participating in Forzathon Live Events will allow players to earn Forzathon Points, which can be exchanged for Backstage Passes. The list of Backstage Pass Cars will be updated to include all remaining cars that were previously exclusive to the Festival Playlist.

Series 77 presents the final opportunity for players to earn achievements tied to the Festival Playlist. These achievements include:

  • A Creature of Habit (15 points): Complete all Seasonal Championships in a Festival Playlist Series.
  • Stunt Puller (15 points): Complete all Seasonal PR Stunts in a Festival Playlist Series.
  • Cashing In (20 points): Earn 1 Season Completion Bonus.
  • Perfectionist (30 points): Earn all 8 Season Completion Bonuses in the same Series.
  • Encore? (50 points): Complete all activities in a single Festival Playlist Series.

Forza Horizon 4 Delisting

For players who accessed Forza Horizon 4 through Xbox Game Pass and purchased additional content, there is some good news. Those with an active, fully-paid Xbox Game Pass subscription as of June 25 will receive a game token if they have purchased any extra content for Forza Horizon 4. These codes will be delivered via the Xbox Message Center over the coming days, though delivery may take some time. Unused tokens will expire on June 25, 2026.
