The Outlast Trials Arrives on PC in Early Access

Developer Red Barrels has announced the early access release of its latest entry in The Outlast franchise, The Outlast Trials. The Outlast Trials is now available on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store and is priced at $29.99. With its Early Access release, Red Barrels is now ready to collect fan feedback as the development of the game continues. The Early Access version of The Outlast Trials will allow players to step into Mukoff’s Sinyala Facility and experience mind-numbing terror whether it is surviving alongside friends or solo. The Early Access will include all the main features of a classic Outlast game and will introduce a whole new program structure. You will be pushed to your limits in new environments, new trials, several challenges, and variators, a seasonal program, character and cell customization, full character progression with a narrative introduction, and a surprising conclusion for each Reagent released.

Additional content will be added to the game in future updates as well however details about the future content are not known at this point. Apart from the developer’s own roadmap, the developers will look into fan feedback as well and add more content to the game based on it. We can expect new gameplay mechanics, new locations, and additional tools in future updates. Philippe Morin, Co-Founder of Red Barrels comments:

We’re eager to see and hear how Reagents (players) perform in Murkoff’s experimental program during The Outlast Trials Early Access. Feedback from players throughout Early Access is key to us delivering a more refined and balanced game. The Outlast Trials is our most challenging production and we’ll continue developing the game until we feel the game delivers our initial vision

The Outlast Trials has been on the must-play list of many players for a long time and last year, at gamescom 2022, the dates of the Closed Beta were announced. Earlier this year in March 2023, the developer shared impressive stats for the closed beta alongside the Early Access release date announcement.
