After a series of successful live virtual events last month, JVCKENWOOD has announced the return of its MAGICAL JUKE BOX festival to VRChat for one final, spectacular performance. JVCKENWOOD’s core VRChat experience, a unique and interactive Special World, is a free-for-all experience for everyone to explore.
This engaging environment is inspired by the loveable Nipper, a young pup with a passion for pop music. The expansive, explorable space is surrounded by lush forests and serene lakes, featuring numerous interactive elements such as a Gramophone Rhythm Game and a playable 3D piano.
Visitors to this virtual realm will also find an area showcasing a variety of JVCKENWOOD products, including headphones, radios, and portable power supplies. You can wear the headphones and attempt to solve the power supply puzzle, all accessible at no cost.
Taking place within this Special World, MAGICAL JUKE BOX is a music festival like no other. This event marks the first time the Japanese company has created a virtual festival of this kind. The initial run featured three exciting weekend shows in June, which proved so popular that JVCKENWOOD decided to host a special triple showcase on July 13th and 14th, 2024.
The upcoming shows will star eight popular VTubers, including “The Kohmi 2nd-chan,” an avatar of singer Ms. Kohmi Hirose, “OMEGA SISTERS with Honwaka band,” and “Ruri Asano.” These artists will perform a variety of songs, including the festival’s theme song, “Hello You, Hello Me.” The event will take place in a venue designed to resemble a vintage-style record player, adding to the nostalgic charm of the experience.
To join the MAGICAL JUKE BOX festival, VRChat users will need to purchase tickets. There are two ticket options available: Seat A, priced at 1,000 JPY, offers a traditional concert experience with seating around the stage, while Seat S, at 3,000 JPY, provides an exclusive opportunity to get closer to the action by joining the artists directly on stage. Despite the ticketed nature of the festival performances, the Special World remains free to all VRChat users.
For those unable to secure a ticket, VRChat will offer an alternative way to enjoy the live performance. The event will be broadcast free of charge on an indoor relay monitor at the Music Café, a facility set up within the Special World, ensuring that everyone can experience the magic of the festival.
