Tetris 99 Getting Second Leg of Championships in USA and UK

Tetris 99 Championships

Nintendo has announced that both championships of Tetris 99 which include Tetris Maximus Cup and Tetris 99 Grand Prix are returning. Tetris Maximum Cup is held in the USA while Tetris 99 Grand Prix takes place for all players in Europe. Dates of both events are same and the events will run from April 12 to April 14, 2019, while Tetris 99 Grand Prix ends on April 15, 2019.

The events may be same however this time there are a new set of rules in place which makes playing and trying for the prize much easier for all players. This time around, players do not actually have to win a game to earn points and win the reward. This time, players will still earn points if they finish the game in the top 80 players in each match.

Players who are in top 80 will get points in and in those 80 players, the higher a player ranks, higher points the player will get at the end of the round. Every time a player earns 100 points after completing enough matches, the player will get a chance to win 999 Gold Points which can be spent in the Nintendo eShop to purchase games.

The Tetris® 99 MAXIMUS CUP is back … and players of all skill levels can join in on the fun! From April 12 at 6 a.m. PT through April 14 at 11:59 p.m. PT, just start playing the game to enter. The Tetris 99 2nd MAXIMUS CUP is different than the first one, as you don’t have to win first place to score points. Even if you place high during matches, but don’t win, you could still come out on top. The higher you place at the end of each match, the more points you earn, with every 100 points counting as a TETRIS MAXIMUS.

At the end of the event, the top 999 players will win 999 My Nintendo Gold Points which can be spent in Nintendo eShop to purchase some brand new games. The results will be announced on April 28, 2019. If you want some tips on how to play Tetris 99, check out our Tetris 99 Beginner’s Guide.
