Arika and Nintendo have released a new update Version 1.2.0 for Tetris 99 and it brings with a new Win Screen and a much needed Hard Drop sensitivity setting. After applying the update, the game will also show players a new online disclaimer message which should have been part of the title when it came out but for some reason, it is now part of the new update.
Nintendo has not shared the official patch notes at this point about what else is new in the patch 1.2.0 for Tetris 99 but the main highlights of the new patch is certainly the addition of the low and high drop sensitivity settings, a new winning screen which you can check it out below and the new online disclaimer message which prompts players about the online.
As a person who has never won a single game in Tetris 99, I would not know how the old winning screen looked like in the game. As I never won a game after applying the new update, I never saw how the new winning screen looks like so I had to nab the following picture from the internet. You can check it out as well courtesy of AKGGrandmasterB from Twitter.
If you are unaware of Tetris 99 than you have been missing out. Tetris 99 is a brutal battle royale game which is in basically a game of Tetris. You must eliminate 98 other players in a savage and deadly battle of Tetris and the person who survives the onslaught until the end is the winner of the match.
The game is played like a normal Tetris game with a few twists. Do not expect to throw Tetris bricks at enemies in FPS when I mention that it is a Tetris battle royale title. Earlier, the developers also revealed that Tetris 99 will get more modes in the future. I also wrote a beginner’s guide for Tetris 99 which you can check out below.
Tetris 99 is a free battle royale title and is now out exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
