Moving on to the AMD Radeon VII benchmarks, we do not know what settings were used for these games but keeping in mind that other games were showcased at 4K ultra setting I have to assume that the same goes for the rest of the games as well. You can check out the AMD Radeon VII benchmarks below:
These AMD Radeon VII Benchmarks are impressive if the games are indeed running at 4K ultra settings. The performance is similar to the RTX 2080 in most cases and that is what you would expect keeping in mind that the pricing is similar as well.
This is not the only GPU that will be released this year. AMD CEO Lisa Su already confirmed at CES 2019 that there will be more announcements in 2019. AMD CTO Mark Papermaster also mentioned that a new portfolio of Radeon graphics cards will be released this year. The following is what he had to say in this regard:
We are really excited to start on the high end with our 7nm Radeon VII […] and you will see the announcements over the course of the year as we refresh across our Radeon program.
AMD has already confirmed that it will be the first chip maker to support PCIe 4.0 standard and that the upcoming AMD Ryzen 3000 series will be compatible with current 300 and 400 series motherboards and it seems these motherboards will also support PCI3 4.0 after a BIOS update.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang was asked about what he thought about the new AMD Radeon VII graphics card and he had some harsh words but AMD CEO Lisa Su also had a decent reply for him.
