The pre-shows have started and CES is here as well. We have already seen some really cool tech and there is more in the pipelines but here we are going to look at some of the best laptops that we saw at CES 2019.
The Best Laptops At CES 2019
Here are the best laptops that we saw at CES 2019:
Alienware m17
The Alienware m17 has been refreshed and it is now 40% lighter than the previous model and weighs only 5.79 lbs. That is very impressive keeping in mind that this is a 17-inch laptop. Another interesting thing is that this is the thinnest gaming laptop that the company has introduced.
The Alienware m17 won the best innovation award at CES 2017 and that is because even though the laptop is thinner and lighter, it does not compromise on performance. Power this laptop is the Intel 8th-gen Intel Core i9 processor and the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q GPUs. So you do get the latest generation of hardware.
Asus Mothership
Asus had a couple of new laptops at the even but the Asus Mothership was unlike any of the laptops that we saw at CES 2019. This is what you would call a Surface Pro for gamers because everything that it has is designed for gamers. The device has a very interesting design and is powered by the latest Intel CPUs and the Nvidia RTX 2080. You can check out more information from our dedicated story of the device.
Asus ROG Stric SCAR II
This might seem like an ordinary laptop from Asus but there is a subtle twist. The screen has a 240 Hz refresh rate which will give you a competitive advantage in competitive games. The laptop will come with the latest RTX Max-Q design. Other than that, the keyboard feels better than the previous generation and it is a great laptop overall.
Alienware Area 51m
This is not a thin and light laptop but it does have a cool feature that not much laptops offer. You can change pretty much anything you want when it comes to the components. I am not talking about the RAM or the storage, while you can swap those too, you can also change the CPU and the graphics card.
The CPU used for the laptop is actually a desktop SKU so you can change that just like any other CPU. The GPU is modular and can be changed as well. This might not be something for everyone but if you are looking for a laptop that you do not need to change every time a new graphics card comes out or when the CPU gets old then this is a great option to look into.

Acer Swift 7
The Acer Swift 7 has been updated and Acer is going for the crown of the thinnest laptop of the world. There is a point where the keyboard travel is limited due to the thinness of the device and that is something that you need to consider. While the travel is there, it is limited and that might bother you. It is not something for everyone but if you are looking for a super thin device then this is an option.
Acer Predator Triton 500
Unlike the Swift 7, Acer means serious business with the Triton 500. While this is also a relatively thin and light gaming laptop it has the RTX 2080 for graphics power and that is more than what the display can handle. You should be able to run pretty much any game with this laptop. The base model costs $1800 which is a lot of money but you are paying for the portability and for that reason, I think that this could be a major seller.
