eSports WRC Presented by Toyota Gazoo Racing Finals Announced for Summer 2021

NACON and KT Racing have announced that the finals of the 2020 and 2021 editions of eSports WRC Presented by Toyota Gazoo Racing will take place in Summer 2021. The final of the 2020 edition will take place in Belgium while the final of the 2021 edition will take place in Greece. The finalists will battle for first place in WRC 9 for the 2020 final and then, later on, WRC 10 for the final of the 2021 edition.

The 2020 edition of the eSports WRC Presented by Toyota Gazoo Racing was postponed earlier because of the global pandemic however it is now in full swing and its final will take place on August 14, 2021, to coincide with the Renties Ypres Rally Belgium. The final will consist of 10 finalists who will fight for the title of eSports WRC World Champion 2020. The finalists include the 8 players that qualified from over 10,000 entrants during the regular season which saw Sami-Joe from Lebanon dominating the competition

Joining these 8 finalists will be Greekman, winner of a wildcard at the Monte-Carlo eSports Launch, and Mihalo, winner of a wildcard at the Neste Rally Finland eChallenge in August 2021. The event is sponsored by Toyota Gazoo Racing which will reward the winner with a GR Yaris. The event is organized in collaboration with Playseat, Fanatec, BenQ, and FlexIT. Each of these companies will also offer prizes to the winners along with providing equipment for the challenge.

  9. Wildcard #1 – Greekman – Greece
  10. Wildcard #2 – RC Mihalo – Finland

Following this, the eSports WRC 2021 final will take place around EKO Rally Greece at the Athens Olympic Velodrome on September 8, 2021. This final will also feature 8 players selected from the normal sessions and surprisingly, Sami Joe is dominating this year as well. They will be joined by a ninth driver who will be selected after the finals on August 9, 2021.

Partners include Toyota Gazoo Racing, FlexIT, BenQ, Fanatec, and Playseat who will be bringing their rewards as well as equipment for the players. The winner will receive a GR Yaris this year as well. Additional details about the WRC eSPorts Finals will be shared in the coming days however this time around, players will be competing on WRC 10, which will officially release just a few days before the final. WRC 10 is officially releasing on September 2, 2021, on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC. A Nintendo Switch version is also slated for release sometime later.
