Nacon and KT Racing have shared the details for the WRC 9 as a recap for the exceptional season that has just come to a close. This gives us a look at the various events that were organized for the official rally simulator, as we prepare for the next chapter in the official game of the FIA World Rally Championship.
Nacon has revealed that over the past six months in the season, more than 33 million special stages have been raced by the WRC 9 players. If you put that into perspective, that is a total of 221 million kilometers or going around the world 5,500 times.
Players from the Nordic countries seemed to be the most inspired in the season, namely players from Finland and Sweden. Players from both countries occupied the top and third positions in the rankings of the most played rallied. In addition, Rally Japan, which was not a part of the Championship since 2011, got to the high position of fifth in the rankings.
WRC 9 is a proper rally simulator, which is apparent with the details that show that more than 68% of the players used a racing wheel in the events. This speaks about the game’s immersion and how close it comes to reality.
WRC 9 was released back in December of last year, and we gave it a 9/10 in our review of the game. The game was also released on the latest PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, taking full advantage of the additional power and features of the next-gen consoles have to offer and is a definitive upgrade over the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game.
WRC 9 with its enhanced career mode comes with the following in the Championship Season:
