Developer Artefact Studio and publisher NACON have released a brand-new gameplay trailer for their upcoming title Crown Wars: The Black Prince as pre-orders go live. Crown Wars: The Black Prince is a turn-based tactics and strategy game where you will start from your castle base and rise to become the lord who leads the battle against the forces of evil. Set in 14th-century France, the game will allow you to master the art of war as you command your troops alongside many iconic characters from that time era.

The new gameplay trailer showcases a medievil dark fantasy world where you are engaged in turn-based combat with many other factions. The developer details the three primary key tips for surviving in combat which are: planning and positioning are crucial for attacking enemies and defending effectively; finding higher elevations will grant accuracy and critical hit chance bonuses; and exploiting environmental and class synergies can be the difference between success and failure during missions.
The story kicks off when you are plunged into a Hundred Years’ War as different royal families are engaging in violent conflicts across the continent to determine who will control the most powerful kingdom in the Western world. However, in between their fights, another force is taking power in the shadows, and it is set to change the course of history. An occult and unholy organization that goes by the name of The Order is lurking in the shadows and is sowing chaos across the kingdom in its quest for power.
The game offers six playable classes, and each class comes with unique skills and preferred weapons. You will have a large number of weapons and items at your disposal to use in combat such as heavy armor, combat-trained bears, explosive flasks, and much more. You will need to discover your Companions’ synergies to maximize their effectiveness in combat. You can train up to 32 soldiers, and customize their names and appearances to give them their own identity. You can also capture and hold prisoners of war to unlock exclusive new bonuses.
Pre-orders for Crown Wars: The Black Prince are now live, and you can add the game to your wishlist on Steam right now. A free demo is also available on PC via Steam for you to download and try out a small chunk of the game. Crown Wars: The Black Prince will be released on PC via Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S on March 14, 2023. A Nintendo Switch version is also planned but it will arrive at a later time.
