NACON held its Bigben Week 5 last week and during the week, we got to see what NACON and its multitude of video game developers have in store for us. During their major event, NACON gave us an update of all of the previously announced titles and announced two brand-new games as well. Apart from new announcements and updates on previous titles, NACON also announced how the publisher is changing.
The last Bigben Week was held back in 2019 and due to the Covid situation back then, the studio gave us a look into what was to come in the next years. Starting with an effective strategy, NACON’s March 2020 listing on the stock market raised more than €100 million which reinforced the company’s ambitions and resources for video game development. Over the course of three years, NACON ended up acquiring over 9 studios. Their latest acquisitions include Midgar Studios and Daedalic Entertainment.
At this point, NACON owns a total of 16 studios including The RIG, which is known worldwide for its premium gaming headsets. The strategy of acquisitions has increased NACON’s weight in the video game development industry and has provided the publisher with expertise in different areas of games and accessories. This has resulted in a massive turnover from €113.1 million in 2019 to €155.9 million today. This is among many other consequences that NACON detailed in their official press statement.
Coming to video games, NACON announced two brand-new titles: Greedfall 2 from the developer Spiders, the second entry in the franchise that has sold over 2 million copies, and WRC Generations by KT Racing which is the new entry in NACON’s long-running WRC franchise.
