Cyanide Reveals New Details for Blood Bowl III, Closed Beta Announced

Preview: Blood Bowl III

Cyanide recently revealed more details about its upcoming Blood Bowl III which is a virtual adaptation of Games Workshop’s cult board game. Cyanide revealed this information during the recently held Games Made in France event which took place from October 29 to November 1, 2020.

As revealed by Project lead Gautier Brésard and game designer Basile Bastian, the game will feature 12 teams at launch which include the traditional Human, Orc, Dark Elf, Elven Union, Skaven, Dwarf, Nurgle, and Chaos Chosen. Apart from these, four new teams will be added to the game including two from the new edition of the board game: the Black Orcs and Imperial Nobility. Imperial Nobility can limit the movement of opponents through dedicated skills.

The final two teams are the Old World Alliance and Chaos Renegades. Old World Alliance includes dwarves and humans while Chaos Renegades includes left-over players from other teams that no one wants. The developer also detailed that all teams will come with their own unique strategies for passing, dodging, or beating the enemies. If you have not played Blood Bowl before then you should know that everything is legal in the game.

The game also runs on Unreal Engine and is the most complete and accurate adaptation of the board game to date. It is also adding many new features to the game such as Special Play Cards that can be used to add temporary skills to units or even assassinate a member of the opposite team before the match even begins. Apart from staying true to the game board game, Cyanide has added some of its own features to the game as well.

Blood Bowl 3 also comes with a campaign mode. Their characters have been added to the game such as sponsors and charismatic star players who will challenge you. You will also find more customization options this time around and you will be able to customize your colors, patterns, logos, pieces of armor, stadiums, and many other elements. The game will also have more post-launch support with additional content, competitions, tweaks, and community support.

Cyanide has also announced that a closed beta for Blood Bowl III will be held in early 2021. Everyone who pre-orders the game will be able to take part in the Early Access. Along with this, additional details will be shared in the coming days which will reveal more ways to participate in the Blood Bowl III Closed Beta.

Blood Bowl III is slated for release in 2021 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Steam, and Nintendo Switch.
