We have been reviewing TEAMGROUP products for quite some time now however the product that we are reviewing today is easily the prettiest product that we have ever received from TEAMGROUP for reviewing. Today we have their brand-new T-FORCE TREASURE TOUCH RGB External SSD which is a really fancy RGB SSD and it is not shy in performance as well. This is our review of the 1TB variant of TEAMGROUP’s new T-Force TREASURE TOUCH RGB External SSD.
Technical Specs
Starting with the technical specs of the SSD, it ships with a USB Type 3.2 Gen2 Type-C connector. The main cable is actually a Type-A connector with a small Type-C connector attached conveniently on top of the Type-A connector so that you can easily choose between the two connections. The transfer rate of the TREASURE TOUCH RGB SSD is officially rated up to 4000MBs. This is the same for both R/W. It weighs just 106gs and is really light and sturdy to pick up and move around.
The sturdiness comes from the outer shell which is made from lightweight materials and features a brushed metallic finish which also protects it from fingerprint residue. I can certainly vouch for this since I have been using the SSD for over a month now and I have been moving it between different systems and the cover really holds it well against all sorts of fingerprints. Inside the casing, you have a special EVA cushioning that protects the SSD inside it and ensures that you are safe from sudden and accidental drops. It comes with a default 3-year warranty.
What’s Inside the Box?
Since the TREASURE TOUCH RGB is a premium product, it comes in premium packaging as well. Opening the box reveals the SSD sitting in the middle with the T-Force logo in the background. Lifting up the SSD and then the packing below reveals a T-Force sticker, manual, RGB stands, and connecting cable for the SSD.
The Magical Touch
Before we jump into the benchmarks, I would like to discuss the RGB part of the SSD in detail The upper surface of the SSD is a touch-sensitive panel which you can tap at any time to change the color and effect of how the SSD shows its RGB. Obviously, this is not ARGB so you cannot sync it with your system however it comes with plenty of options on its own. The touch surface acts as your controller and you can easily change the color and effect style of the RGB.
Tapping once on the screen will allow you a free pass since you might accidentally sometime touch it and it will not change the RGB color or effects when you tap I once. To scroll through the designs and all available effects, you can tap the panel two times and it will switch to the next effect. Keep going until you find the one which you like the most. In addition, if you do not fancy the RGB, you can tap the panel three times to turn it off as well. Tapping it three times will turn it back once again.
TEAMGROUP has already added a vertical stand for the RGB SSD inside the case so that you can easily use the SSD as a display as well. While the SSD sits on its stand, it will throw RGB down on the surface which will create a lighting effect on the surface under the SSD. It looks really cool and if you do not move around much, you can easily place the SSD on its stand and use it as a desk ornament as well. Putting the SSD normally will make the RGB bar face the front and it will act like a normal RGB bar with your desired effect on the display.
Test Bench:
TEAMGROUP T-Force TREASURE TOUCH RGB External SSD has been used with multiple devices during its testing phase including a PS4, Xbox One, different laptops, and desktop PCs. For the following benchmarks, however, we plugged the SSD into our trusty test bench comprising of the following hardware:
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 3700x
- Motherboard: Auros X570 Elite Wi-Fi
- Graphics Card: AMD Radeon 5700 XT
- Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 DRAM 3200MHz C16
- PSU: Cougar 750w
Benchmarks:
Normally, we test an NVMe or SSD on a single slot but since the TREASURE TOUCH RGB SSD offers both Type-A and Type-C connections, we have tested its speed on both of these slots to see how much the speed varies and differs from the other option. The Type-A tests were done using a USB 3.0 port. You can find both tests below:

Final Verdict:
TEAMGROUP T-Force TREASURE TOUCH RGB External SSD does not only look pretty but it is also super-fast. Featuring both USB Type-C and Type-A connectivity support out of the box, you can start using the TREASURE TOUCH RGB SSD to its fullest right out of the box. The included SSD stand lets you display the RGB down on the surface where you place it and even if you do not want to use the stand, the RGB strip puts on a show as you transfer your files on the go with super-fast speeds. Changing the RGB effects by touching the surface of the SSD is really cool as well. If you prefer RGB and want a super-fast SSD that not only looks pretty but also performs well, then TEAMGROUP T-Force TREASURE TOUCH RGB External SSD is a solid option for you. Highly recommended for people who are always on the move and are bored of the traditional generic-looking external storage drives.
