Steam Next Fest is here and with it, we have tons of new demos to play once again. Steam Next Fest is excellent for indie developers to showcase their brand-new titles before they are released. With Steam Next Fest getting bigger and bigger with every event, it can get a little overwhelming and you might miss some really good releases available during it. For saving you the trouble, we have gone through some of the best demos and listed them below for you to check out. The Steam Next Fest June 2023 is now live, and it will remain live until June 26, 2023, so you only have a limited time to check them out. So, without further ado, let’s jump into them.
One Lonely Outpost
If you love settling on alien planets and want to establish your very own functional colony there, One Lonely Outpost might interest you. Published by Freedom Games, One Lonely Island will allow you to transform an alien planet into a canvas of human civilization where you can record the alien flora and fauna, farm, fish, and build vital structures to prepare the planet for incoming travelers. Sugar Shack
Another title by Freedom Games, Sugar Shack is a maple syrup management game set in a cozy magical forest inspired by Quebec lore and art. Flutter Away
Flutter Away is a wholesome nature exploration game by Runaway Play in which you will explore the serenity of the Amazon rainforest as a butterfly researcher on a five-day camping trip. Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition
Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition marks the return of the original cult classic 90s FPS remastered in 4k ultrawide with unlimited frame rates, restored content, new episodes, a level editor, and tons of new and modern features. You can download a free demo of the game here.
Rightfully, Beary Arms
A fun, little bullet hell roguelite where you will collect loot, die, and try again. You can choose what upgrades you want for your next run and also select which upgrades your enemies will get for the next run which makes this a unique game. You can download its demo right here.
Yomi 2
Yomi 2 is probably one of our favorite titles on this list because it takes a brand-new approach to fighting games by introducing the card-battling system into the mix. You will choose your fighter and then take part in different fights where you will land attacks, block incoming attacks, and also use special moves by selecting the right cards. LAPSUS
This one is for puzzle lovers. LAPSUS is a 2D puzzle platformer where you will think in multiple timelines simultaneously. For solving the puzzles, you will be required to manipulate the laws of physics to overcome 80+ levels set in different worlds. You can download its free demo here.
Ebenezer and the Invisible World
Ebenezer and the Invisible World is a hand-drawn Metroidvania fantasy reimagination of Charles Dickens’ classic novella, A Christmas Carol. Currently under development at Orbit Studio and Play on Worlds. The game is a narrative 2D Metroidvania adventure that features hand-drawn art where you will enlist the help of ghosts to save the people of London before it’s too late. Genopanic by developer Mobirate is a pixel-art, Metroidvania-inspired adventure platformer where you will explore corridors of the space station, finding its many secrets and dangers. Quest Master is a dungeon-designing sandbox adventure currently under development at Skydevilpalm and Apogee Entertainment. Defender’s Quest 2: Mists of Ruin
Defender’s Quest 2: Mists of Ruin is the latest tower-defense game in the classic Defender’s Quest tower-defense series. Developed by Level Up Labs and published by Armor Games Studios, Defender’s Quest 2: Mists of Ruin has been in the works for the past ten years and allows you to defend your ship from dangers unknown. In Stars And Time is a turn-based RPG where you can create a better future for yourself and your friends as you will find hope when none is left. In Bilkin’s Folly, you will join Percy and his family dog Drayton to find a brand-new ship, assemble a crew and find his missing relatives after his ship is wrecked in a storm. An Everyday Story is a narrative puzzle platformer where you will experience life from the view of three trinkets. Each of these trinkets is owned by a single man and to him, each trinket represents a bond with a loved one.
