Capcom held a brand-new Spotlight last week and during it, the publisher shared new details about its upcoming titles. The games featured during Capcom Spotlight included Resident Evil 4 which received a brand-new thrilling demo along with new details on Capcom’s upcoming dino-hunting game Exoprimal which is getting an Open Beta later this week. Capcom also announced the release date for its revival of Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective. Along with this, the publisher also released information on additional titles, all of which are included here.
Resident Evil 4 Demo
Capcom started the Spotlight by announcing that a demo for the upcoming Resident Evil 4 is now available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. Called the Chainsaw Demo, the new demo will allow you to experience the new reimagining of Leon’s first steps into the mysterious European village. The demo will prepare fans for the horrors that await them when Resident Evil 4 releases on March 24, 2023.
Resident Evil 4 launches with a digital “Deluxe Edition”. The Deluxe Edition features additional in-game content, including costumes, weapons, a treasure map, and more. Those who pre-order the Standard Edition will receive in-game rewards, including the “Attaché Case: Gold” and “Special Charm: Handgun Ammo,” while pre-orders of the Deluxe Edition also include the “Attaché Case: Classic” and “Special Charm: Green Herb” items. These customization items offer specific in-game abilities when equipped.
Exoprimal Release Date Set for July 14
Capcom also announced the release date for Exoprimal during the Spotlight. Exoprimal will be released on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows, PS5, PS4, and PC via Steam on July 14, 2023. Exoprimal will also be available on Day One on Xbox Game Pass for console, PC, and Cloud. The latest trailer for Exoprimal showcased new Exosuits, dinosaurs, and the upcoming Open Beta Test for the game as well. The Open Beta for Exoprimal is taking place from Match 17, 2023 to March 19, 2023. The window is only for two days so you will have to fully utilize it if you are interested in trying out the game before its official launch.
The Exoprimal spotlight revealed Kreiger and Nimbus as new Exosuits joining the action where each model has unique powers to assist their allies on the battlefield. New enemies revealed include the sinister A.I. Leviathan, the armor-plated Stegosaurus, Sinornithosaurus, the Stealth Neosaur, and Cryo Neosaur. Pre-orders for Exoprimal are now live and you can pre-order the game right now for exclusive bonuses. The Digital Deluxe edition of the game brings the Season 1: Premium Tier as a limited-timed bonus as well.
Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective Release Date Set for June 30
The revival of Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective also got its release date revealed. Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is slated for release on June 30, 2023, and will allow players to take part in Sissel’s thrilling adventure as he navigates the world as a spirit stuck on Earth. The game was originally released on Nintendo DS and is created by the legendary Ace Attorney director Shu Takumi. This upcoming remaster features beautiful and updated high-resolution graphics, newly arranged music tracks, unique illustrations, trophies, and more. It will be released on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
Pre-orders for Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective are now open and you can get special pre-order bonuses for Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. This bonus content grants players four changeable side banner backgrounds which include images of Missile, Sissel, Lynne, Kamila, Black Cat, and Ray. The two additional background music tracks “Missile ~ A Courageous Little Animal” and “Chicken Paradise” are also available alongside pre-orders. This content will be available for PS4 at the game launch for a limited time as well.
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Console Release Date Announced
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is releasing on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows, PS5, and PS4 on April 28, 2023. Sunbreak is the first expansion released for Monster Hunter Rise and it is now making its way to additional consoles as well since it was previously only available on the Nintendo Switch. Capcom also announced that Nintendo Switch and PC players will need to wait until April as additional information on the upcoming Free Title Update 5 will be shared then.
Street Fighter 6 New In-Game Commentator Reveal
Street Fighter 6 is introducing a new real-time commentary feature to the series and Capcom has announced the latest in-game commentator as Japanese actress Hikaru Takahashi. Hikaru Takahashi is the eighth and the final in-game commentator for Street Fighter 6 and she will be available in the game at its launch.
If you are unaware of the real-time commentary feature, Street Fighter 6 introduces real-time commentary which incorporates the voices of popular Fighting Game Community (FGC) commentators and influential personalities to narrate matches in real-time with easy-to-understand gameplay explanations. Also announced during the Spotlight was the introduction of Rally Support where commentators will cheer competitors on and amp up the excitement as the match progresses.
Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection
Director Masakazu “Mr. Famous” Eguchi shared new details on more exciting features coded into Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection. They included:
All 499 Patch Cards created for Mega Man™ Battler Network 4 onwards will be included in the collection! Previously, these were physical cards only sold in Japan and had to be scanned into the game. Additionally, players who want to focus on experiencing the story of Lan and his Navi, MegaMan.EXE, can now use the new Buster MAX Mode, which will be automatically disabled for online NetBattles. This mode multiplies the damage of MegaMan.EXE’s MegaBuster shot by 100, helping you breeze through NetBattles and enjoy the story! Speaking of enjoying a story, starting on March 21 the first two seasons of the Mega Man™ NT Warrior animated series will be free to watch.
You will be able to experience all 10 mainline Mega Man Battle Network titles when Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection launches on PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on April 14, 2023. Pre-orders for the game are now live and all pre-orders will get two additional skins for the 3D MegaMan on the launcher screen along with four bonus tracks to enjoy on the Music Player. Digital versions of Volumes 1 and 2 can also be purchased separately at launch.
Capcom 40th Anniversary
Capcom is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and has unveiled Capcom Town in celebrations. Capcom Town is a digital theme park that commemorates the historic milestone and you can look forward to exploring a digital museum and more when Capcom Town opens its door on June 12, 2023.
