With 2022 coming to an end and 2023 officially kicking off, we have a whole year filled with video games to look forward to. If for some reason, you were disappointed with the releases of 2022, you can now look forward to 2023 as we have tons of new games coming out this year that will surely attract your attention. No matter which platform you are playing these games on, you have a huge number of video games coming out this year. Here, we have listed our top 10 most anticipated games of 2023.
Wild Hearts
EA’s answer to Capcom’s Monster Hunter franchise, Wild Hearts is a brand-new monster-hunting game developed by Omega Force. In Wild Hearts, you will master ancient tech to take down giant beasts. It brings a unique twist on the hunting genre where you use technology to take down the fearsome beasts infused with the power of nature itself. The game offers both solo and seamless co-op as you hunt down these beasts. Wild Hearts is releasing on February 17, 2023.
Forza Motorsport
After the disappointing release of Forza Motorsport 7, Turn10 decided to completely rework the formula and skip its normal game cycle to delay and release a proper racing simulator. The answer is now the new Forza Motorsport which is now coming finally in 2023 after a full six-year delay from Forza Motorsport 7. So far, Turn10 has shown some really impressive footage of the new Forza Motorsport and we cannot wait to jump back into the world of racing with the new title. A confirmed release date for Forza Motorsport is not known at this point however Turn10 has given the window of Spring 2023 for its release.
FINAL FANTASY 7 Rebirth
SQUARE ENIX released the remastered FINAL FANTASY 7 however it featured only half of the original FINAL FANTASY 7 which meant that the later part of the original game will arrive later. FINAL FANTASY 7 Rebirth is the second half of the game and it will be released in winter 2023. So far, SQUARE ENIX has not confirmed a release date for the game but we do have a winter 2023 release window, so we are clinging to that to continue our adventure in this beautiful RPG.
The Outlast Trials
One of the best horror franchises out there, The Outlast is getting even bigger this year with the release of The Outlast Trials. While the game takes a new direction for the franchise, The Outlast Trials is a survival horror game that is aimed more at multiplayer with friends or random players from around the world with its four-player action. The game can also be played in solo mode however the real fun of The Outlast Trials lies in online multiplayer as players will take part in Cold War-era experiments of brainwashing and mind control. Players and their friends will try to survive and stay sane. As of now, there is no confirmed release date for The Outlast Trials however the game might be coming out in 2023.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
Rocksteady is back at it again with their latest title Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League which features Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark who join together as Task Force X on a mission to take down the evil Justice League and ultimately Brainiac. Brainiac has managed to take control of superheroes including Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Flash, and the Green Lantern and the Suicide Squad will now have to work together in order to bring everything back to normal. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will release on May 26, 2023.
Street Fighter 6
Capcom is releasing the next installment in its long-running fighting franchise, Street Fighter called Street Fighter 6. Targeting both casual fans of the franchise as well as hardcore fans, Street Fighter 6 is aiming to do everything right that Street Fighter 5 got wrong. A new Drive Gauge will be featured in the game which will bring a few of the familiar mechanics back into the play such as parrying and focus attacks. Street Fighter 6 is bringing the classic roster of Street Fighter 2 back to life in modern visuals and mechanics and it also brings classic Capcom games to the loading screens which are fully playable as you wait for matches to begin. Street Fighter 6 is releasing on June 2, 2023.
STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl
One of our most anticipated games for this year is STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl which has been long due for its release. GSC Game World, the developer behind STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl ended 2022 with a brand-new trailer for the game and a 2023 release window as well. The game will bring back its unique combination of first-person shooter, immersive sim, and horror into one game with an unprecedented scale, advanced graphics, freedom of choice, and a deadly environment. STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is slated for release in 2023.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
The sequel to 2009’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will pick up the story right where the first game left off. It will continue the journey of Cal Kestis who is now a full-fledged Jedi. If you are waiting for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, you will be glad to know that you do not have to wait much longer to play it as Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will release on March 17, 2023.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
PlayStation fans and Spider-Man fans are in for a treat this year because the sequel to the 2018 Marvel’s Spider-Man, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is releasing this year on PS5. Insomniac Games is currently working on the title, and we have not seen too much information about the title at this point. One thing we do know is that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will feature both Peter Parker and Miles Morales who received his own standalone title Spider-Man: Miles Morales game as well. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is slated for release in fall 2023.
Hogwarts Legacy
Hogwarts Legacy is the answer to fans’ prayers for years who have been asking for a modern open-world game set in the universe of Harry Potter. Developed by Avalanche Software, Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world adventure game where players will finally get to live their fantasy in the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Finally, we have been waiting for this one for a really long time. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a direct sequel to Breath of the Wild which was released on Nintendo Switch back in 2017. This is one of the best-kept secrets and Nintendo has since released very little information about the title apart from the fact that the game will be set in the skies and the story will pick directly from where the original Breath of the Wild. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is slated for release on Nintendo Switch on May 12, 2023, and it is our most anticipated game for 2023.
