The Fire and Ice quest begins right after you complete the “Here Be Monsters” main quest. It begins with you heading to Drake’s Breath with Jill. Upon reaching the location, head up the stairs on the path next to the rocks, until you reach a door. Here you will be facing some enemies leading you to the second area with more enemies.
Continue down the main path where you can pick up the potions around. The first main enemy that you will encounter is the Akashic Morbol. Defeating this enemy will give you the following rewards:
- 180 XP
- 120 AP
- 18x Magicked Ash
- 2,000 Gil
- 2x Meteorite
Continue after beating the first mini boss and then head on towards Drake’s Breath. You will find more enemies as you head deeper and also fight Red Mousse.
The path ends when you reach the second mini-boss in the quest, where this time you have to fight the Flame Lizard. Beating this boss will give you the following items:
- 220 XP
- 150 AP
- 1x Gnarled Scale
- 2,500 Gil
- 18x Sharp Fang
Once you have beaten the Flame Lizard, take the ladder after jumping over the rocks, and it will take you to the door on top, triggering another cutscene. With more enemies to fight ahead, you will eventually reach the last boss in this quest which is the Liquid Flame. Defeating this boss is what is required for the quest, while it will reward you with the following items:
- 600 XP
- 220 AP
- 2x Liquid Flame
- 3,000 Gil
- 35x Magicked Ash
