The “Letting Off Steam 1” quest activates during the “Out of Shadow” quest and begins at The Hideaway.

Begin by first talking to Blackthorn at the start of the quest. You will then be required to choose between Gav or Otto by deciding who you want to go to in the quest. The choice has the same result with either character you choose to be with.

The next place you are headed will take you south of Velkroy towards a river where you will find the character you chose to be within the quest. The location will be marked on your map and all you have to do is go talk to them to begin the next objective.

The main task here after talking to your chosen companion is to find and gather five Stardust. To do just that, you first have to go to the marked location on the map, bringing you to the edge of the river. Here, there are five Stardust locations that you can go to and gather the required materials. Once you have done that, head back to your companion and hand them the collected Stardust.

You will now have everything you need to head back to The Hideaway and meet with Blackthorne. This final step will then conclude the quest, rewarding you with the following items:

  • 1x Gil Bug
  • 1x Goblin Coin
  • 1x Black Blood
  • 500 XP
  • 500 AP
  • 800 Gil
  • 40 Renown
